Product Description

Around Ireland’s Bantry Bay, there has been talk about how the dolphins seem to be attracted to Claire Riley. What the villagers don’t know is that Claire has discovered she can telepathically communicate with a mystical pod of very special dolphins.

In 1714, the English Lord Radstone leaves Ireland to become the governor of Jamaica. Claire and her mother, servants at Radstone Manor, make a fateful decision and join Lady Radstone and her three young sons as they sail for the Caribbean. Claire’s mother is killed in a sea battle and Claire and the Radstones are held for ransom by pirates.

Claire takes charge and spirits the Radstones out of the Pirates’ control and into the hundreds of islands of the Bahamas. With the help of the dolphins, they elude the pirates. When Lady Radstone dies, Claire, at seventeen, must become a guardian and leader.

Claire and the Radstones meet a family of native islanders, and together they steal a ship from Nassau harbor. While sailing toward Jamaica they encounter a slave ship and witness unbelievable horrors below its decks. Claire and her unlikely crew decide to stop more of these evil ships. Claire secretly uses the dolphins to track down the slavers, and as more and more liberated Africans join the crew, a legendary fighting force emerges. While facing unimaginable inhumanity and danger, Claire’s crew frees thousands of Africans and sets them ashore in an area that becomes Haiti.

Claire finally honors the promise she made to Lady Radstone, and takes the boys to their father. Her crew vows to carry on and Claire returns to Bantry Bay. She spends her life lobbying the British government to free Ireland and outlaw slavery. Most days Claire is seen walking along the shore seemingly talking to water.
